The White Library

Here's a preview page from "Seaweed and the Devil's Cookbook". (Hopefully it will be ready for the San Diego Comic Con 2011!) It shows the interior to the White Library and the first look at the Basilisk that guards the main hall. Sometimes Basilisks are portrayed as large snakes but I prefer the image of a dragon body with a roosters head. Of course he spits rocks and if you look directly into his eyes you'll turn to stone.

Great to meet you at the LA Book Fair. The new book looks great. I especially like the library. Very detailed. Hope to see it at Comic Con. Take it easy.

Hi Ben!

I've just recieved "A Cure for Mildew" and I'm absolutely fascinated with the drawings.

This page looks gorgeous!
THe library kick-ass!

Just a question: is it inked with ink or do you inked it with the cintiq?

Your job is always inspiring!

THANKS!

Looks like everyone beat me to it, but I just wanted to say I loved the first book and these images only further cement my excitement for the sequel.

My comic shop happened to have a few copies of your book and I really enjoyed it. Especially the slew of roughs at the end.

I'm glad you decided to say "fuck it, I'm making this book huge" too.

Fantastic work!!!
i have a few questions about your method: how did you clean up your roughs? Using a lightbox?
